WRI and One Tree Planted Funds SCNL To Restore Trees In Grand Cape Mount County

Empowering farmers for economic benefits, conserving nature

The Society for the Conservation of Nature of Liberia (SCNL), with funding from the World Resources Institute (WRI), and the One Tree Planted, distributed tools and seedlings to farmers in five communities namely Fallie, Tosor, Sembehu, Latina, and RobertSport.

The project was launched on July 2, 2022, in Grand Cape Mount County, opening the corridor for a two-year project that aims to allow SCNL to achieve its restoration and Agroforestry program in support of Liberia’s 60,600 trees restoration target while providing livelihood incentives for community stewards in the Protection and Management of the Lake Piso Multiple Sustainable Use Reserve in the county.
